Enough docs to be posted to GGH of Nalgonda: Komatireddy
Nalgonda: Minister for roads and buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, laid the foundation stone for a new antenatal care unit at the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda on Sunday. The facility is expected to provide free antenatal tests to pregnant women, enabling doctors to monitor the health of both the fetus and the mother effectively.
Reddy assured that the Mother and Child Hospital would be staffed with adequate gynaecologists and nurses. He directed the hospital superintendent to recall doctors and staff currently on deputation to ensure sufficient medical personnel. Additionally, a postnatal care centre equipped with air conditioning, funded by the Komatireddy Pratheek Foundation in memory of his son, will be established.
The minister also emphasised the importance of public awareness regarding antenatal tests for early detection of health issues. In support of enhancing medical services, District collector Ila Tripathi announced a monthly incentive of ₹15,000 for the best doctor, encouraging excellence in healthcare delivery.
District medical and health officer (DMHO) Dr Potla Srinivas and deputy DMHO Dr Venugopal Reddy were also present at the event.
