Etala Asks Banks to Be Liberal to Youth Seeking Self-Employment
Hyderabad: BJP Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendar has said that people must evolve themselves to oppose the culture of freebies and favoured reduction in the number of white ration cards. The BJP leader said that financial assistance from banks for self-employment and imparting skill training would help the government reduce the dependence of people on white ration cards.
Taking part in the first anniversary of PM Vishwakarma Yojana at National Institute of Training in Vidyanagar, Rajendar said that the scheme was brought to preserve the rich cultural heritage and encourage artisans. Such self-employment schemes will reduce dependence on white ration cards. The central government had set a target to benefit 20 lakh families under the scheme and so far 2.6 lakh families have been benefited, he said.
Pointing out that more number of youth must be enrolled under self-employment schemes, Rajendar asked banks to provide loans to poorer sections without any conditions. He said that self-help women groups have been making 98 per cent repayment.
