Etala Says He Has No Other Work, Except Party Work

Hyderabad: BJP national executive member and Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendar said on Sunday that the future of a political party depended on the commitment of its leaders and workers and he does not have any work other than the party’s work.

Taking part in the membership drive of the party in Rangareddy district, the former minister said: “I don’t have any other work, except engaging myself in party work. The image of the leader will help the party. The future of the party depends on the commitment of party leaders and party workers.”

Observing that the BJP was in a powerful position in Greater Hyderabad with a number of party MPs and corporators, he said BJP workers should not act like spectators. “We must question the government if it works against the interest of the public. We got 35 per cent vote share in the last Lok Sabha elections and it made clear that the voters are with the BJP.”

Rajendar’s comments hinted at his interest in taking over the party's reins.

He asked the party workers to continue their agitation on Six Guarantees, 66 promises and 420 works promised by the Congress before the Assembly polls but not implemented.

The State Level Bankers Committee had said 72 lakh farmers have availed the bank loans in the state. Ahead of the Assembly polls, the Congress had said that 65 lakh farmers had farm loans. After coming to power, Revanth Reddy said 49 lakh farmers have availed bank loans. The Congress leaders also gave conflicting information about the farm loan amount as `43,000 crore, `34,000 crore and `31,000 crore. But, the state government had finally given extended benefits of only Rs 17,000 crore, he said.

Rajender said former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao took a lot of time to lose the confidence among voters. But people have already started hating the Revanth Reddy government within eight months of coming to power.

Stating that HYDRAA was trying to grab the attention of the people, the BJP leader said Revanth Reddy is making a number of gimmicks to divert the attention of the people. He may succeed temporarily, but he can not escape the ire of people.

Rajendar also called for the review of GO 111, which prohibits construction activity in the catchment areas of Osmansagar and Himayatsagar.

He said several important facilities including Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, and IT towers, come under the limits of GO 111. Authorities claim that all structures which come under GO 111 limits, are illegal. “It is wrong to feel that the government can take over any land and demolish any structure. This GO should not be used for political gains.”

He said many water bodies have disappeared in Hyderabad. Several nalas including Firangi nala near Hitec City had disappeared.

The BJP leader criticised the government’s land policies, which are creating troubles for innocent people.

“When five acres of land was in dispute near Saroornagar lake, the revenue department had put 100 acres in the black list. People who own plots and flats are unable to sell or get bank loans due to the lopsided approach of the state government, Rajendar said.

“It would be a big blunder to support Revenath Reddy for his current actions. How many lands and houses which got LRS and BRS around 30 years ago have become government lands now,” he asked.

The state government had served notices to many houses in LB Nagar and Uppal limits as Waqf lands. These same houses got all permissions from different agencies of the government, he said.
