Etala says sarpanchs in pitiable state
Hyderabad: BJP leader Etala Rajendar said the condition of sarpanchs has gone from bad to worse after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took over. They are not even able to pay their own hospital bills, he alleged.
Addressing media at the BJP headquarters he said, “Revanth Reddy came to power using all means. The government should release dues of sarpanches. The NREGS funds are not being released because the state government has not released its share of funds. Registration and mineral development funds that panchayats used to receive have been stopped. The CM had earlier asked the sarpanchs to question the ministers on these dues. They are ready to do the same now.”
The BJP will back the agitation of the sarpanchs. Panchayats will receive funds only if elections are held to them. Congress which had promised 42 per cent reservation for BCs should implement the same and hold these polls, he said.
