KCR ends 'stoic silence', declares war against Cong govt
Hundred percent people have come to the conclusion that the next government will be ours, KCR said.

Hyderabad: Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, on Friday threw down the gauntlet at the Congress government, making it clear that the time had come for him to end his “stoic silence” on the goings on in the state.
“We have been patient for 14 months and it is time we reclaim Telangana. It is the BRS that achieved Telangana, and performed wonders for the people and the state. There is no question of allowing the government to get away with neglecting people. We will demonstrate what BRS is and its strength at a public meeting in February,” Rao said.
“When I deliver the blow, it will be one that will be felt strongly,” the BRS president declared. Rao said there was widespread dissatisfaction against the Congress government that is manifesting itself is just about a year. “Let there be no doubt, it will be the BRS which will come back to power the next time,” he said. Rao was addressing a large delegation of party workers from Zaheerabad constituency who called on him at his farm house in Erravalli village.
The BRS president said the meeting will take stock of one year of Congress rule. “Elections come and go, and one party makes way for another. I have seen many governments come and go but none like the present one. The public mood is such that people appear ready to beat up Congress leaders if they come across them. This got reflected in an online poll they conducted where 70 per cent of people said they prefer us,” he said.
The BRS chief was referring to an online poll by Congress where the party asked what people prefer ‘farmhouse rule’ or ‘praja palana’. “People are ready to bring BRS back to power,” he said.
It is time to launch a direct battle against the failures of the government, Rao said. “Anyone who questions the Congress government’s failures are being intimidated with cases being filed against them.”
He said that the BRS government had approved the Sangameswara and Basaweswara lift irrigation scheme in Zaheerabad, which have been stopped by the Congress government. “Why are the farmers being made to suffer? Land values are collapsing across the state. I suggest that Harish Rao get the farming community together and launch a movement to ensure all farmers get their dues,” Rao said.
He said the BRS government worked hard for the people and ensured all round development and took the state to the top in welfare programmes.
“Within a few months after coming to power we ensured 24 hour power supply. We ensured irrigation through the projects we took up, and drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha. Introduced programmes like Rythu Bima, distributed sheep, and did not discriminate when it came to ensuring benefits reach people. All that is now gone. This Congress government has been destroying every sector,” the BRS president said.
He added that when the BRS was in power, the state witnessed annual income rise of around `15,000 crore. Now, as per the latest CAG report, this has fallen by `13,000 crore. Experts on economy are warning that if this situation continues, the state will face severe resource crunch. Already there are complaints that retired employees are not getting their financial benefits.
Among the BRS leaders present at the meeting were senior BRS leader T Harish Rao, MLAs Manik Rao, Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Chinta Prabhakar, former MLA A Jeevan Reddy and others.
