Face Wash and Go drive for safety of commuters
Vijayawada: To prevent road accidents and ensure the safety of commuters traveling to Andhra Pradesh from other states for the Sankranti festival, the Palnadu police initiated a safety programme called ‘Face Wash and Go’ on Sunday.
Palnadu SP K. Srinivasa Rao instructed police personnel to organise the programme at all major centres in the district. The personnel guided commuters to wash their faces and continue their journey, helping them stay alert and avoid accidents due to drowsiness.
The SP stated that the programme aims to ensure safe travel for commuters, allowing them to reach their destinations without incident during the Sankranti festivities.
In a separate initiative, the SP directed police personnel to closely monitor the conduct of cockfights and other illegal activities. He also advised the public to dial 112 to report incidents related to cockfights and gambling. The police are using drones to monitor and track anyone involved in such illegal activities.
