Families Reunite for Id under Pleasant Weather
Hyderabad: Muslims celebrated Id-ul-Zuha, the festival of prayers and sacrifices, on Thursday. People greeted each other and offered prayers at masjids and idgahs throughout the city.
The Macca Masjid witnessed a sizeable gathering for Id-ul-Zuha prayers at 9.30 am, led by Imam Lateef Ahmad. The congregation extended to Charminar, with around 6,000 participants joining in the prayers. At the Idgah Mir Alam tank, Hafeez Rizwan Qureshi, khateeb of Macca Masjid, led the prayers, marking the largest gathering in the city.
All the mosques in Hyderabad were filled with the faithful, who preferred offering prayers at idgahs, which are open-air and located on the outskirts of the city.
Syed Mustafa Hussain who came from New York to celebrate, said, "Hyderabad is always the best place to celebrate Id. I offered my prayers at Masjid E Azizia in Mehdipatnam, and then performed the Qurbani at my place. The day was spent with friends and relatives."
Gulam Ali, a resident of Purani Haveli, said, "My family and I offered prayers at Masjid E Asifya near our home and performed the Qurbani. The weather was pleasant, and the prayers were peaceful. We prayed for prosperity and health for everyone."
Nawab Mir Nawab highlighted the significance of the festival for his family, "This Id was a family reunion as my daughter and her family came from abroad for the celebrations. We invited all our friends and relatives to join us in the festivities."
The spirit of Id-ul-Zuha was evident across Hyderabad as families gathered to pray, perform sacrifices, and celebrate together, reinforcing the sense of community and faith.
