Hyderabad: Police arrested six persons, including the father and brothers of the victim, for a murder over a property dispute at Jogulamba Gadwal district a few days back.
They murdered Sandyapogu Ramesh, son of the main accused, and drove a four-wheeler over him in order to show it as a road accident death.
The arrested persons includes the victim’s father S. Kishtanna, his sons and the victim’s brothes Gopi and Mahesh, and Boya Narasimhulu, Bandamidhi Thimmappa, and Boya Nagendra. The victim's mother S. Teemulamma, one of the accused, remains absconding.
According to T. Srinivasa Rao, Jogulamba Gadwal SP, one S. Chandrakala, wife of the victim Ramesh, approached the Shanthinagar police on February 12 and lodged a complaint that her husband had died after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Maddur. She suspected property disputes with family members as the cause for the death.
"During the preliminary probe, it was revealed that there were property disputes within the family. A few months back, when one of the accused Mahesh was coming on a motorcycle, Ramesh and another brother Thimmappa tried to kill him and cases were registered. Seeking revenge, Mahesh decided to kill his elder brother Ramesh. He told this to their parents, who along with another brother Gopi decided to kill Ramesh," the SP said.
On February 12, Ramesh went to Alampur with his uncle Sudhakar on some court work. When Ramesh reached Maddur on his bike, the accused hit the bike with a vehicle and slit his throat and ran away from the place. Based on PME reports, and circumstantial evidence, police identified the accused and arrested them," police said
