Fazulnagar Reservoir Filled With Yellampalli Water

In a major step to support agriculture, the government has filled the Fazulnagar reservoir by releasing water from the Sri Pada Yellampalli Project (SRSP)

Karimnagar: In a major step to support agriculture, the government has filled the Fazulnagar reservoir by releasing water from the Sri Pada Yellampalli Project (SRSP). Marking the occasion, Government Chief Whip and MLA Aadi Srinivas performed special prayers at Fazulnagar village in Vemulawada Rural mandal on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, Srinivas emphasised that the proactive release of water aims to prevent groundwater depletion and protect farmers’ borewells and fields. By filling lakes, ponds, and reservoirs in advance, the government seeks to ensure an uninterrupted water supply for farmers during the summer season.

He criticised the previous BRS government, stating that water was released only after farmer protests. In contrast, the Congress government has taken early action to avoid any inconvenience in the coming months. Additionally, water has been released to fill ponds in Malial and Rudrangi mandals downstream.

Srinivas highlighted the long-standing struggles of people for the construction of key reservoirs such as Maripalli, Oora Cheruvu, Lachampet Thanda, and Kalikota Suramma. He noted that these projects, which had been stalled, are now progressing rapidly under the Congress-led government.

Further, the integration of lakes including Lonka Cheruvu, Ashireddypalli Kothacheruvu, Sanugula Erra Cheruvu, and Patel Cheruvu is expected to improve the region’s water table. This initiative will address groundwater issues, benefiting both irrigation and drinking water needs, he added.
