Fight for Irrigation Schemes: Harish Tells BRS Leaders
Senior BRS leader Harish Rao calls for protests, urging completion of Sangameswara and Basaveswara projects stalled under Congress rule.

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Friday called on the party leaders and cadres from Zaheerabad, Andole, Sangareddy and Narayankhed constituencies to fight for the completion of the Sangameswara and Basaveswara lift irrigation schemes.
“These projects, designed to irrigate 4 lakh acres, were envisioned by KCR. Let us work towards realising his dream. Since Congress came to power, the future of these projects has become uncertain. It is up to the BRS to take up this issue and pressure the government to complete them,” Harish Rao said.
Speaking at a meeting at his residence, attended by BRS MLAs, former MLAs and leaders from the four constituencies, he emphasised the need for protests.
“As per KCR’s direction, we will hold demonstrations demanding the projects' completion. KCR laid the foundation stones for these schemes on February 21, 2022. Even after 14 months in power, the Congress government has not even taken a peek at these projects leaving the dreams of irrigation in the four constituencies unfulfilled,” he remarked.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Chinta Prabhakar, and Manik Rao, along with former MLAs Bhoopal Reddy and party leaders Siva Kumar, Jaipal Reddy, and others.
