Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy asked officials to identify consultants for the construction of HAM roads and prepare a DPR to initiate the process
Hyderabad: The road and building minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, on Wednesday instructed officials to speed up construction of Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) roads in the state and directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for constructing roads in the state.
The minister said this while conducting a review meeting with the officials on HAM roads at the Secretariat.
Venkat Reddy directed officials to construct HAM roads in accordance with the rules and regulations. Construction of missing link roads from mandal to district centre, missing link roads from district centre to state capital must be finished early by using the latest technology.
The minister also asked officials to identify consultants for the construction of HAM roads and prepare a DPR to initiate the process. The minister said that the government guidelines should be strictly followed in the construction of roads, dividers, lighting and road expansion.
Venkat Reddy suggested that every engineer should carefully inspect the work so that the quality of roads is not compromised as the company that took over the HAM road for 15 years is the one who has to maintain it.
If roads that were till now dirt roads are identified, they will be immediately sanctioned provided they are brought to his attention.
