FIR Against KTR for Remarks Against Rahul, CM Revanth

Warangal: Police in Hanamkonda have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against BRS working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao following a complaint by Congress leaders over alleged remarks made at a public meeting.
The complaint was filed by Hanamkonda MLA Naini Rajender Reddy and Wardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju, who met Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh seeking action. They alleged that during the ‘Rythu Sangrama Sadassu’ held in Warangal on May 6, Rama Rao made abusive and provocative remarks against Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
According to the complainants, the remarks were derogatory and intended to provoke public unrest and political hostility. They stated that the speech lowered standards of public discourse and caused distress to party supporters.
Based on the complaint, Subedari police invoked provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including Sections 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 299 (acts intended to outrage personal feelings). Section 351 (criminal intimidation) is also being examined.
Police said an investigation has been initiated and electronic evidence, including video and audio recordings of the speech, is being collected for examination. Further action will be taken based on the findings.
