Hyderabad: A fire broke out on the ground floor of My Home Project, an under-construction site, in Kokapet in Narsingi on Friday afternoon.
According to station fire officer Kamalakar, the fire erupted as a result of the sparks falling on the thermocol packets from welding work going on.
Workers immediately informed the police and the fire department, who reached the spot and douse the flames.
“We were able to douse the flames with the help of water and foam. Quick action by workers helped a lot,” the SFO said.
A team of five fire officers from the 101 fire station were deployed in the operation.
Visuals of smoke erupting from the multi-storeyed building were being circulated on social media platforms.
Narsingi inspector Hari Krishna Reddy said, “We did not receive any complaint from the contractor or anyone involved in the under-construction project. Hence, we have not registered a case.”
