Five bikers, two pedestrians killed in separate accidents in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Three motorcycle riders were killed when their vehicle hit a road divider at Bandlaguda on Sunday night. P. Sandeep, 25, and his friend M. Abhilash, 24, died on the spot while Srihari succumbed to injuries early on Monday.
They were among the seven persons who died in separate road accidents in the twin cities since Sunday evening. Five of the victims were on two-wheelers, the two other victims were pedestrians
Bandlaguda police said Sandeep was driving the bike at high speed and lost control of the vehicle. They were to Shivrampally to meet Sandeep’s sister
A school bus fatally hit a pedestrian who was crossing the Bengaluru highway at Satamrai at about 5 am on Monday, according to the Shamshabad police. The victim was flung to a distance under the impact and died on the spot.
The driver surrendered at the police station. “Due to the rain, I couldn’t see the pedestrian,” the driver reportedly told the police. A Shamshabad police official said that overspeeding was the reason for the accident.
In a separate incident Mahesh Kumar Mishra, 32, was run over by a speeding lorry while crossing the road at about 8 am on Monday, Raidugram police said. Mishra, a native of Bihar, was a security guard and was returning home after his duty.
Elsewhere, Sanmgumalla Kurumurthy, 45, a painter, died on the spot after he lost control on his bike and rammed into a fencing at ORR exit-17, RGIA Shamshabad police said..
Sangumallu, a resident of Izzatnagar, Kondapur, was going to work when the accident occurred at about 6 am on Monday, police said.
In another case Sutari Venkatesh, a delivery agent with an e-commerce company, died when a car his two-wheeler. Venkatesh was going with his mother and taking a U-turn at Gurramguda when the accident occurred. His mother S. Padma suffered fractures.
