Fix Union Concerns by May 17, Ponnam Tells RTC Officials

The minister set May 17 as the deadline to improve basic amenities at depots and bus stations, with priority on clean restrooms, drinking water, greenery and overall hygiene.

Hyderabad: Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar has directed RTC officials to address issues raised by trade union leaders during their meeting with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday.

At a review meeting, the minister asked officials across all divisions to ensure a supportive work environment and avoid harassment of staff. “I urged officials at every divisional level to carry out work with a positive, supportive approach and ensure staff are not subjected to any harassment,” he said.

He instructed officials to maintain an approachable attitude towards lower-level staff and passengers, and to interact with drivers, conductors and other employees in a friendly manner rather than being abrasive.
