Food Safety officers cancel license of Chaitanya's central kitchen

Hyderabad: The state food safety department has cancelled the licence of the central kitchen associated with Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions located in Madhapur. The department had inspected the kitchen on Friday.
Food safety officers discovered unsanitary conditions and expired food items in the kitchen that supplies food to thousands of students in all hostels of the Chaitanya group spread across the city.
The officers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the kitchen's unsanitary conditions. The authorities seized about 125 kilograms of expired food items. The officers also found rice, vegetables, and lentils stored in an unclean environment.
Insects and rodents, including cockroaches and rats, were spotted in the kitchen and storage rooms.
In response, the authorities have issued an order to cancel the central kitchen license of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions in Madhapur and directed an immediate halt to food preparation. They have warned of strict action if cooking continues in violation of the order.
