Hyderabad: Pandu Ranga Rao, an Assistant Engineer (AE) in Panchayat Raj Department at Itikyal Mandal in Gadwal, was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) when he allegedly demanded and accepted Rs.50,000 from the complainant for showing official favour.
Rao allegedly demanded bribe from the complainant to record the measurement book and forwarding the bill of the minority community hall works executed by the complainant. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Rao at his instance.
Both hand fingers of Rao and the left side front pocket of Rao’s trousers yielded positive result in chemical test, the ACB officials said adding that Rao was produced before the special court for ACB cases in Nampally after which the court remanded them to judicial custody.
