Senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao expressed joy over the lake’s revival after years of encroachment. “Our long struggle has succeeded,” he said, thanking Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath for their efforts. He added that once restoration is complete, women can immerse their Bathukamma in the lake during the festival.
Khairtabad DCC president Rohin Reddy credited Hanumantha Rao for bringing the issue to the Chief Minister’s attention, prompting swift government action. He thanked Revanth Reddy, Ranganath and Hanumantha Rao for resolving the matter. Several leaders and local residents joined the celebrations.
