Welfare Colleges Shine Bright in Inter Exams; TRJC Tops with 94% Pass Rate

Hyderabad: Government-run junior colleges, particularly welfare residential junior colleges, outshone their private counterparts in the intermediate public examinations results released on Sunday. With a 94.03 per cent pass rate, the Telangana Residential Junior Colleges emerged as the most successful institutions while junior colleges run by TGRTC secured 89.29 per cent and social welfare institutions secured 86.79 per cent passes.
Performance of other institutions, include Central government institutions (86 per cent), TG government sports (84.85), TMRJC (84.46), tribal welfare (84.20), BC welfare (83.48), KGBVs (81.39). This was against the 71.57 per cent passes in private colleges. A total of 41 educational institutions achieved 100 per cent results.
Model schools secured 66.15 per cent, while government junior colleges registered a pass percentage of 59.86 per cent. Private aided and co-operative institutions secured above 50 per cent. Composite college recorded 36.71 per cent.
The elangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) said that its pass percentage increased compared to the previous year. In the second year, of 13,481 students from 235 institutions who took the exam, 11,894 were successful with a pass percentage of 88.22 as against the state average of 75.61 per cent.
In the first year results, 13,611 students from 226 gurukuls appeared and 10,588 students passed, with 12 junior colleges securing 100 percent result. Two second-year students secured 995 out of 1,000 marks in MPC, one student scored 994 out of 1,000 marks in BiPC, and another student secured 985 out of 1,000 marks.
The 35 Telangana Residential Junior Colleges registered a pass percentage of 97. Over 30 MPC and 22 BiPC students scored above 990 marks.
Meanwhile, 17,749 Model School students appeared for inter first year exams and 9,213 passed. In the second year, 16,893 students appeared and 11,174 cleared the exams.
