Hyderabad: The GO 317 Victim Teachers and Employees Association met transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday to discuss their grievances and seek immediate redressal.

The association explained their issues with the online grievance portal and the adverse impacts of Government Order 317. "The order does not consider the nativity of the employees, which goes against the very purpose of Telangana's formation to protect native rights," said Srikanth R., a spokesperson for the association. The minister assured them that the government has decided to take up general transfers and release its schedule shortly. He also stated that their concerns, including those related to the grievance portal, are under review.

GO 317, introduced in December 2021, implemented a zonal system for job allocation and transfers, causing significant unrest among state employees and teachers. The order aimed to streamline employment within the newly created districts following Telangana's reorganisation but has faced severe backlash for its perceived arbitrariness and lack of consultation with affected employees.
