Govt. to set up Veda Patasala at Yadagirigutta: Surekha
Hyderabad: The state government is setting up a Veda Patashala at an estimated cost of Rs 43.79 crore on 17.35 acres at Yadagirigutta, endowment minister Konda Surekha said, adding the government is carrying out the gold plating work of Sri Swami Vari Vimana Gopuram with 63 kg of gold.
In a written reply in the state Assembly in response to a question raised by Congress MLA from Yadagirigutta Beerla Ilaiah, Konda Surekha said the government has been carrying out several pending works at a cost of Rs 200 crore and the same was sanctioned to Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority.
Konda Surekha claimed that the fund was used for construction of 105 ownership shops at the downhill, construction of devasthanam shops in 47 acres at downhill, ornamental elevation work for Satyanaraya Swamy Vrata Mandapam and building works at downhill and Rs 111 crore towards land acquisition.
She claimed that the state government had sanctioned Rs 404.78 crore for the development of major temples in the state including Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Vari Devasthanam at Vemulawada, Sri Bhadrakali Ammavari Devasthanam at Warangal.
Several works have also been taken up under the Special Development Fund at several temples including Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Vari Devasthanam at Bhadrachalam, she said.
