Karimnagar: The state government is taking major steps to provide technical skill training to local youth to help them secure well-paying jobs abroad. As part of this initiative, Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) are being established in every constituency across the state, said welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Tuesday.

The minister was speaking after offering prayers at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple along with labour minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy at Dharmapuri in Jagtial district.

He said the centres would prepare youth for global employment opportunities and focus on modern skills that are in high demand in India and overseas. He added that the government, through Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM), would also provide language training.

The initiative aims to protect youngsters from being cheated by fake Gulf agents and ensure job security in foreign countries, he said.

Venkataswamy announced that a new agriculture course would also be introduced at the Advanced Technology Centres. Since many families in Telangana depend on farming, the course would equip youth with modern agricultural knowledge, he said.

The minister also directed the district collector to identify 30 eligible candidates from Jagtial district for immediate training under the TOMCOM programme.

The ministers also reviewed preparations for the Godavari Pushkarams scheduled for 2027. Laxman Kumar said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was committed to developing temples from Basara to Bhadrachalam. A special cabinet sub-committee had been formed to ensure all facilities and roads were completed well in advance for devotees.

Laxman Kumar said development funds for the Dharmapuri temple had been neglected in the past and works were often taken up at the last minute, causing inconvenience to pilgrims. He assured that the Congress government was committed to completing quality infrastructure early and celebrating the Pushkarams on a grand scale.
