Grilled but not done - Defiant KTR says ready for more from ACB

Hyderabad:K.T. Rama Rao, the BRS working president, after a day-long questioning by ACB officials on the Formula E race case on Thursday, said that he had told the officials that “this is a useless case foisted against me by a useless CM.

“The poor officials, who were clearly efficient, probably had just four or five questions given to them by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. They went around in circles asking them again and again, about which file went from where and to whom,” he told mediapersons.

“They asked me 82 questions. I made it very clear that had I ordered the payment, and there was no corruption. I also told them that I am ready for any more questions and will be happy to go back to their office and answer them.”

Rao added that for the officials to ask more questions, they probably will have to wait to get some more from the Chief Minister. He also said he told the officials that “the CM may have some perverted plan to put me in prison as he was put in in the past.”

Rao said “I told them that as a minister, I took the decision to transfer the funds (to FEO). I told the officials that the money was sent and the FEO had acknowledged. So where is corruption in this?”

The BRS leader, who also spoke to his supporters at BRS headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, said that he told the ACB officials that an easy way out would be to call him and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and ask them questions using a lie detector. “Revanth can have this at his Jubilee Hills residence and both of us can be asked questions about corruption and then let the process be telecast live. I was not the one caught with `50 lakh cash in hand. It will become clear who has things to hide, and who is corrupt,” Rao said.
