Nalgonda: Nadimigudem forest beat officer Banoth Naresh allegedly accepted a bribe of ₹10,000 at his office in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district for not interfering with the cultivation of patta podu land, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials said on Thursday.
ACB Dy SP Ramesh said a trap was laid following a complaint from a podu land cultivator. The land at Venkatapuram had been assigned by the government to the complainant’s father.
Naresh was caught while allegedly accepting the bribe at his office. The amount was recovered from his possession, and both his hands tested positive in the chemical test. The accused officer was arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases at Warangal.
