Guru Nanak University Focuses on Industry-Academia Collaboration for Top Ranking
Hyderabad: Guru Nanak University (GNU) Chancellor Sardar Gagandeep Singh Kohli said industry-academia collaboration was the key to propelling the university into the ranks of India’s top educational institutions.
Speaking at the HR conclave, ‘Preparing the workforce for the future’, Kohli revealed that GNU was actively incorporating industry feedback to adapt its curriculum to the demands of the modern world.
The conclave saw industry leaders and academic professionals addressing the rapidly evolving workforce landscape. Keynote speaker Mayank Gupta emphasised the need for adaptability in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) world, while Shamika Namdas stressed the importance of fostering a growth mindset in new graduates.
S. Krishnakanth Vishnubhatla highlighted the critical role of communication skills for job readiness, and Swathi Bhagavathula encouraged students to nurture entrepreneurial thinking.
The event concluded with Eshwar Kandkuri offering strategies for a seamless transition from campus to corporate life. GNU Vice Chancellor Dr H.S. Saini reiterated the university's commitment to skill development. The event also featured panel discussions on diversity, skill-based hiring, and upskilling strategies, alongside networking and a felicitation ceremony.
