H-NEW Team Deports a Nigerian

Hyderabad:The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) arrested a foreign national and deported him to Nigeria after he was found indulging in actions detrimental to national security. The accused was identified as Ikeji Innocent Nduka, 53, a native of Lagos in Nigeria, who had come to Mumbai in 2009 on a tourist visa which had since expired.

He started with a clothes business and came to Hyderabad in May 2024 to start illegal activities but was arrested by Panjagutta police.

During the investigation, police learnt that the accused was overstaying his visit visa and was involved in illegal activities and had created a fake identity to stay in India to avoid legal issues and to fly back home, police commissioner C.V. Anand said in a press release.

The H-NEW secured a movement restriction order against Nduka from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and he was kept in a detention centr. Further, an emergency travel document was obtained from the Nigerian High Commission, New Delhi, to allow him to travel back to his country. City police obtained an exit permit from the FRRO Hyderabad for Innocent on September 7 and deported him to Nigeria from Mumbai, the commissioner said.

On this occasion, the commissioner appreciated the H-NEW inspectors K. Srinivas and G.S. Daniel and sub-inspector Venkat Ramulu.
