Haj Committee plans for Haj 2025

Need control room in Saudi for Indian pilgrims: TG Haj panel

Hyderabad: Telangana Haj Committee discussed various issues and difficulties that Haj pilgrims faced in Saudi Arabia during the Haj 2024. The committee chairman Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani held a meeting with all district Haj Societies regarding Haj 2025 at Telangana State Haj Committee here on Tuesday. The meeting discussed different ideas and instructed the societies to pay attention to the needs of Haj pilgrims, especially elderly pilgrims.

Addressing the media, Afzal Biyabani said he had requested the Central Haj Committee to establish a control room in Saudi Arabia to assist Indian pilgrims as they have been facing language barriers. He also assured that he would personally inspect the accommodations provided to ensure a hassle-free experience for the pilgrims.

Biyabani also requested the Central Haj Committee include observers from Telangana in the Central Haj Committee operations. He stated that Telangana received 9,113 applications for Haj 2025, out of which over 8,000 have been cleared. The remaining applications on the waiting list are expected to be approved shortly. He also noted that there was a nationwide decline in applications this year due to various issues.

District Haj members have been alerted to address challenges based on experiences from Haj 2024. A Haj inspector will be assigned to oversee a group of 150 pilgrims to ensure smooth coordination and district pilgrims will travel in groups. Biyabani also announced that accommodations failing to meet proper standards have been blacklisted. Health checkups will be conducted for all pilgrims preparing for Haj 2025.

Irfan Shareef, assistant executive officer of the Telangana Haj Committee, explained the important logistics during the stay of Haj Pilgrims in Mecca Mukarrama and Madina Munawwara.
