Harish: All CM Did Was to Lie in Assembly

HYDERABAD: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of perpetuating falsehoods since the election campaign. “The Chief Minister continues to build on the foundation of lies he laid during the elections. In one year, there is nothing notable he has achieved — he has only lied about everything,” Harish Rao said.

Addressing a press conference after the Assembly session was adjourned, Harish Rao stated that the Chief Minister made baseless allegations against the BRS without offering any substantive statements in the House.

“There was no clarity on when the Rythu Bharosa will be implemented. Misleading numbers were shared regarding the state's debt. This session has exposed how shamelessly Revanth Reddy can lie,” he remarked.
Harish Rao reiterated that the total loans taken during the BRS government’s tenure amounted to ₹4.17 lakh crore, not the ₹7–8 lakh crore claimed by the Chief Minister. “Our government paid around ₹1 lakh crore towards interest and principal on loans inherited after Telangana was formed. The BRS implemented numerous welfare programmes, yet none of this is being acknowledged. Instead, the lies continue that the BRS did nothing,” he added.

He also criticised the Congress-led government’s farm loan waiver, calling it partial and incomplete. “We are ready for an open debate on the farm loan waiver issue. Will Revanth Reddy come for a discussion, or will Bhatti or Tummala step in? We will prove that their claims are false,” Harish Rao said.

Reacting to the Chief Minister’s comments about the death of a woman at Sandhya Theatre during the special inaugural show of Pushpa 2, Harish Rao defended the government’s swift action in registering an FIR. He questioned why similar urgency was not shown when a former sarpanch in Kondareddypally village allegedly committed suicide under pressure from the Chief Minister’s brother.
