Harish slams CM, Komatireddy on special permissions for new movie
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Friday charged the Congress government with breach of privilege of the Assembly by going back on the promise of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy of not allowing special privileges for new movie releases.
In a statement, Harish Rao said both the Chief Minister and cinematography minister had told the Assembly following the death of a woman in a stampede at Sandhya theatre at a premiere show of ‘Pushpa 2’ movie, that there would be no more special provisions for any movie releases.
“But not only additional special shows have been allowed, but the government also permitted a hike in ticket prices for a new movie. What is the reason for this U-turn? The BRS will move a privilege motion against the Chief Minister and the cinematography minister. How could the government go back on its promise even as a boy, the son of the woman who died in the stampede at the theatre, still struggling in a hospital to stay alive?” Harish Rao said.
