Hyderabad: The book Aa Paata Madhuram-2, written by the late Hasam Raja, well-known journalist and music expert, was launched here on Tuesday by KIMS-Sunshine Hospital MD Dr Gurava Reddy.
The first copy was handed over to music lover and analyst J. Madhusudana Sharma. Dr Gurava Reddy praised Raja's contribution to music and journalism, especially his work on Hasam magazine and website and asked Raja’s daughters Shresta and Keerthana to revive the magazine.
Literary critic C. Mrinalini spoke about Raja’s ability to analyse songs both musically and lyrically. She said his deep understanding of music made him a unique figure in the industry.
Renowned music director R.P. Patnaik recalled how Raja had promised to support his programme ‘Paata’ but passed away before he could fulfill it. Patnaik spoke about the need to pass on Raja’s knowledge to future generations.
Dr Varaprasad Reddy, Shantha Biotech founder, the book’s publisher, spoke about his long association with Raja. He explained why Hasam magazine had been discontinued but assured that more books under Hasam Publications would be released.
The book was written by Raja and published with the support of his friend Dr Bhargavi from Pamarru.
