HC Directs Naveen Mittal to File Affidavit on Allegations Made Against Him
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has taken serious note of the encroachment of three-and-a-half acre land in the Ibrahimpatnam revenue division and directed senior IAS officer and CCLA Naveen Mittal to submit his contentions on the encroachment and personal allegations made against him in this regard.
Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy directed Mittal to file the counter in his personal capacity by the next hearing on February 4.
The judge was dealing with a petition filed by Machaa Mahender, the president of the Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Raipole village, Ibrahimpatnam mandal, Ranga Reddy district. The land, admeasuring 3.20 acres in Survey No. 221, situated in Ibrahimpatnam Revenue division, is classified as government land in revenue records.
According to the petitioner, the revenue officials failed to protect the government land, which led to the creation of various fraudulent documents pertaining to the subject land.
The petitioner also alleged that the land was illegally occupied by Sri Indu College of Engineering and Technology with fraudulent documents, and authorities are not responding to the representations made by the villagers regarding the encroachment.
The petitioner also requested the court to order an ED and CBI probe into the land deals.
The judge, however, dismissed the probe request and directed Mittal to file a counter. Further, the court directed the Collector and Revenue officials of Ranga Reddy and Ibrahimpatnam not to entertain any transactions over the scheduled land of three acres and 20 guntas.
