HCITI to Ensure Delivery of City Infra, Amenities
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has formulated the ‘Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure’ (HCITI) for comprehensive development of amenities and infrastructure in Greater Hyderabad limits on lines with the directive of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) and other development projects will be executed under ‘HCITI’ which will be an umbrella body for all the major developmental works that will be taken up in the city
The aim of this programme is to maintain Hyderabad's image internationally, a release from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said.
In addition to SRDP that takes care of the city’s flyovers, underpasses and other infrastructure and SNDP that was proposed to strengthen the stormwater drain network in and around the city, the Comprehensive Road Development Plan (CRMP) will restore city main roads.
The state government has directed the GHMC to prepare proposals related to priority works that require the funds besides the works that were taken up under the BRS regime but are pending.
“The main objective of the HCITI is to make sure the city undergoes a major metamorphosis in terms of infrastructure completing the unfinished works undertaken under various schemes including SRDP, SNDP and CRMP,” said a GHMC official.
Construction of stormwater drains at Saket Adarsh Nagar (Kapra circle), Pedda cheruvu ( (Uppal circle ), Lakdikapul to Nampally Exhibition Ground, Nallagandla surplus nala, Sunnam cheruvu are some the 35 nala works that will be taken up under HCITI.
