Headmistress Suspended for Allowing KCR’s Birthday Celebrations in Hastinapur School

Headmistress Rajitha was suspended as per CCA rules: DEO

Hyderabad: The Ranga Reddy District Educational Officer (DEO) P Suseendra Rao placed Nandanavanam Colony MPP School in-charge headmistress Rajitha under suspension with immediate effect for allowing holding birthday celebrations of the former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on the school premises on Monday.

In a notice, he said the celebrations were conducted under the supervision of a former corporator, with the participation of school students. He said it has come to the notice of the authorities that MPP School in Nandanavanam Colony at Hastinapur in Saroonagar mandal was used for the birthday celebrations of a political leader.

These celebrations were conducted under the supervision of former corporator, with the participation of school students. The school’s in-charge headmistress Rajitha has been found responsible for allowing these activities within the school premises.

This amounts to a clear violation of Telangana Civil Services (TGCS) (Conduct) Rules-1964 and the guidelines set by the Education Department. Rao said the State government schools were strictly prohibited from being used for political activities and students should not be involved in such events.

“Permitting political leaders and their associates to hold celebrations inside an educational institution is deemed inappropriate and against the ethical standards expected by the school authorities,” he explained, adding that the competent authority has decided to place Rajitha under suspension with immediate effect as per CCA rules.

“During the suspension period, she shall not leave the headquarters without prior permission and will be entitled only to subsistence allowance as per rules,” Rao added. The action against the headmistress was initiated based on a report submitted by Mandal Educational Officer (MEO) in Saroornagar on Monday.
