Healthy, educated Telangana is Congress mantra: Ponguleti

WARANGAL: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the Congress government is implementing special measures at the grassroots level to ensure education, health, and sanitation for all citizens, aiming to transform the state into a ‘Healthy Telangana’ and ‘Educated Telangana.’ The minister made the declaration while inaugurating a common diet plan at the Social Welfare Hostel in Maripeda mandal of Mahbubabad district on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Reddy highlighted that the Congress government has taken unprecedented steps in the history of welfare hostels by increasing diet charges by 40 per cent and cosmetic charges by 200 per cent. These measures are part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality of services provided to students and residents in welfare hostels.

In addition to financial adjustments, the state government has established the state education commission under the leadership of Akunuri Murali. The commission oversees the inspection of welfare hostels and has been allocated ₹667.25 crore to provide basic facilities across all government schools in the state. This funding aims to improve infrastructure, educational resources, and overall learning environments for students.

Marking the one-year anniversary of the state education commission’s formation, Reddy emphasised the successful implementation of six guarantees and development schemes that have garnered widespread appreciation from the public. The government remains committed to realising the aspirations of impoverished families by constructing Indiramma houses and distributing them to eligible beneficiaries, thereby helping them achieve home ownership.

In a further display of the government's commitment to healthcare, the minister inaugurated three 108 ambulance service vehicles designated for Danthalapally, Sirole, and Narasimhulapet mandals. These ambulances were unveiled at the premises of the Primary Health Centre in Maripeda, significantly enhancing emergency medical services in these regions.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Government Chief Whip Jatoth Ramchandru Naik, district collector Adwaith Kumar Singh, superintendent of police Sudheer Ramnath Kekan, additional collector K. Veera Brahmachary, mandal special officer Dr Kiran Kumar, and other dignitaries.

Under the leadership of minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the Congress government continues to prioritise the welfare of the state's residents through comprehensive initiatives aimed at fostering education, health, and sanitation, thereby laying the foundation for a prosperous and equitable Telangana.
