Heavy rains expected in Hyderabad: EVDM advises caution (File Photo)
Hyderabad: Heavy rains are expected to lash the city on Friday evening, said the Director of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management (EVDM), GHMC.
The Director of EVDM has advised the citizens to plan their travel accordingly and contact the officials for assistance.
In addition, the EVDM listed out some rain-related precautions and the types of complaints they deal with.
These are some issues on which the EVDM takes action - Fallen trees obstructing vehicle movement, Rescuing humans and animals, Rain water stagnation and First aid to accident victims. Map details, incident photos, Type of complaint and phone number are to be submitted to the department along with the complaint, said the Director in a post on X.
The department also advised people to stay indoors and avoid travel, while also staying informed and away from power lines during the monsoons.
The India Meteorological Department - Hyderabad (IMD-H) on Thursday issued a weather warning for Telangana and said, "Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) are likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana, including in Hyderabad."
