Hyderabad: Efficient hospital administration is as crucial as medical advancements in improving healthcare delivery, experts stressed at the first-ever alumni meet of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) on the occasion of the department of hospital administration turning 35 on Sunday.
Discussions focused on the evolving challenges of modern healthcare management and the growing need for skilled administrators to navigate them.
The event brought together over 100 alumni who now hold key positions in hospitals and healthcare organisations across the country. Former medical superintendents Dr Pulijala Satyanarayana and Dr Indira Venkatraman reflected on how hospital administration had transformed over the decades, with increasing emphasis on patient-centred care, technology-driven management, and policy implementation.
