Human rights association condemns Mulugu encounter

WARANGAL: The Telangana State Human Rights Association in a statement here on Sunday

condemned the encounter in the Chalpaka forests in which seven Maoists were
killed, and sought a judicial inquiry headed by a High Court judge into the
incident.

The association demanded that the post-mortem of the Maoists’ bodies by done
under the supervision of the expert officials.

BRS former minister T. Harish Rao on his ‘X’ handle asked why the Congress
government was encouraging “fake encounters’ while going in for its
anniversary celebrations.

The Human Rights Association alleged that the Congress, which came to power
in the name of establishing democratic government, had once again
transformed the state into ‘encounter Telangana’. It accused the Chief
Minister of requesting the Centre to set up special police camps in the
state and taking steps for implementation of ‘Operation Kagar.’

The association said the operation appeared to have been undertaken to take
the attention off the food-poisoning incidents in government schools.
