Adilabad: Hundreds of devotees thronged the Basar temple ahead of Vasantha Panchami celebrations on February 3, with many arriving from neighbouring Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh to perform Aksharabhyasam for their children and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
Devotees consider Vasantha Panchami as the Janma Nakshatram (birth star) of the goddess, making the occasion particularly significant. The influx of worshippers began early, with many taking a holy dip in the Godavari River from the pre-dawn hours. The rush is expected to continue throughout the day. Nirmal collector Abhilasha Abhinav inspected the arrangements at the temple to ensure a smooth experience for devotees.
