Hurting religious sentiments case: Raja Singh acquitted
Hyderabad:The Nampally court acquitted Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh in a case filed against him by Mangalhat police for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims. The court accepted the arguments presented by Singh's lawyer Karuna Sagar.
The incident dates back to August 2022 when several Muslims filed a complaint at the Mangalhat police station, accusing Singh of making derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad, which they claimed had hurt their religious sentiments. Following the complaint, a case was registered, and he was produced in court.
After his release, the MLA, while travelling to his residence via the Alaska Junction, allegedly made ‘V’ and thumbs-up gestures that Muslims felt were offensive.
However, the court, after examining the evidence and arguments, dismissed the charges.
