Suspicious Hubby Shoots Dead Wife With Illegal Gun
Husband Arun allegedly called his wife Nisharani for a talk at dawn before shooting her; police probe reveals prior arms-related case.

A realtor, Arun Kumar Yadav, 48, shot dead his second wife Neharani, 38. at their house in Maruthinagar, Malkajgiri, suspecting her fidelity.
Police said Yadav opened three rounds at 4.30 am — two bullets hit her head and ear, while the third missed as she shouted “Athamma, Athamma,” calling out to his mother Lakshmi in the next room. On seeing his mother, Yadav fled, leaving Neharani in a pool of blood. Three empty shells were recovered at the scene and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Investigators said Yadav had first married Neharani’s elder sister Swarnalatha 10 years ago. After she was diagnosed with cancer, he developed relations with Neharani and married her at Yadagirigutta Temple five years ago. Later, suspecting her of an affair, he procured a country‑made firearm from Bihar in March. He was arrested with the weapon and six live rounds in Amberpet and remanded to Chanchalguda prison.
After his release, Yadav obtained another illegal weapon from Maharashtra. Police said he assaulted his first wife Swarnalatha during an argument and sent her back to her parents’ house, while continuing to live with Neharani. Harbouring a grudge, he waited for an opportunity to eliminate her.
“We have formed three special teams and are examining CCTV footage in Maruthi Nagar and connecting roads. His mobile is switched off, but we have collected his call data records and will arrest him soon,” a senior officer said.
Malkajgiri police registered a case of murder and under the Arms Act. After post‑mortem at Gandhi Hospital, the body was handed over to Neharani’s family.
