Hyderabad: Members of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) from Osmania, Gandhi, Nims and ESI Hospitals, and the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of the Nims gathered at the Ambedkar statue on the Necklace road on Tuesday demanding justice for the rape and murder victim of R.G. Kar Hospital in Kolkata.

Protests and strikes have now been going on for six consecutive days. Junior doctors and residents have been raising their voices in different ways, including art, songs, flash mobs, street plays and bike rallies. The youth of the medical fraternity has left no stone unturned in giving expression to their fears and hopes.

On Tuesday, at the Ambedkar statue, medicos had a theatrical demonstration with a woman covered in blood lying on the floor and a white fabric with red and black handprints behind her, highlighting that the victim is a woman first and the lack of public outrage makes the hands of society covered in blood.

On Sunday, Gandhi students held a flash mob at the protest held at Dharna Chowk. The same day, nearly 700 junior doctors from Osmania marched from dental college to the hospital.

One of the many heartening expressions from the protest was a song sung by Dhanush, an MBBS student of Gandhi Medical College, on Saturday. The same day, Rims Adilabad medical students carried out a bike rally and a thousand doctors from ESI medical college held a rasta roko rally.
