Hyderabad: The south zone team of the commissioner's task force along with Bahadurpura police raided a coffee shop at Bahadurpura and arrested seven including the owner for supplying hookah on the premises. Owner of the coffee shop Mohammed Abdul Muzammil, 26, was found to be providing hookah to customers, police said. Hookah parlours and supply of hookah in hotels and restaurants are banned in Telangana.
The other accused have ben identified as Mohd Furkhan Ahmed, 18, manager, Mohd Nazeer, 41, supplier of hookah flavours and customers Sayed Zameer, 25, Syed Sohail, 20, Syed Fazal, 20, and Mohd Mukkram, 20. Police seized 19 hookah pots, five boxes with each box containing 50 grams of hookah flavours and six boxes of hookah coils, all worth Rs 30,000.
Muzammil been running the coffee shop under the name if ‘The Wolf Cafe and Lounge’. As his profits dulled, , he has started selling hookah illegally.
