Man gets life for killing wife
Hyderabad: The LB Nagar court on Tuesday sentenced Jalpet Manikchand, 48, to life imprisonment for killing his wife Yadamma over suspicion of an extra-marital affair in Mokila in 2024.
The couple, who reportedly had a 28-year-old son, had frequent arguments for over 10 days before the murder as Manikchand suspected his wife had an affair. The couple was residing in Indiranagar village.
On May 6, 2024, while Yadamma was asleep, Manikchand allegedly hit her head with a stone, causing severe bleeding injuries. The next morning, he reportedly met his wife’s brother-in-law and confessed to the crime.
Following this, the couple’s son, Babu, 28, lodged a complaint with the Mokila police. A case was registered on him based on the brother-in-law’s statement, which acted as circumstantial evidence, and medical reports. The investigating officer proved Manikchand guilty of the crime. A fine of Rs.500 was also imposed on him.
