Hyderabad: CM Revanth's Musi River Revamp Lauded by Residents

Hyderabad: Residents lauded the initiative of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to rebuild the heritage of river Musi on the lines of the river Thames of London.

The CM, along with a team of experts, had held meetings with the governing body of the river Thames and had said that the state government was ready to spend Rs 50,000 crore to clean up the Musi and develop a riverfront.

On the sidelines of the celebration of the Hyderabad Cycle Revolution, heritage and environment enthusiasts gathered on the bank of the Musi for a heritage ride. While some walked along the river, some rode cycles.

Ravi Sambari, co-founder of Hyderabad Cycle Revolution, said, “We appreciate the decision of the government to revive the Musi. We are a team of around 10,000 people who want to see this city clean and green.”

He added, “This is our first event on the bank of Musi. We have planned several such events in coming days that would educate people on our duties to environment.”
Mohammed Haseeb Ahmed, a heritage enthusiast and cyclist, said “The initiative taken by Revanth Reddy for making this river same as river Thames is an inspiration for the people of Hyderabad. The heritage river which has so much to offer is brought back to life.”
