Hyderabad: Fire Guts Locked House, No Casualties

According to Yakutpura station fire officer Prem Kumar, a call was received at 12.45 am on Wednesday about the fire incident, and thereafter, four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took two hours to douse the flames after breaking open the doors of the house.

Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out in a locked house at Matti Ka Sher, Charkaman, when family members had gone to take part in the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj. According to Yakutpura station fire officer Prem Kumar, a call was received at 12.45 am on Wednesday about the fire incident, and thereafter, four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took two hours to douse the flames after breaking open the doors of the house. “It appeared that a short- circuit could be the cause of the fire. The furniture and other household goods placed in the duplex house were gutted,” Prem, said.

Naveen, who stays next door, informed the family members about the fire incident and the exact value of property that was damaged would be known when they return from the pilgrimage, a firefighter, said.

AIMIM MLA Mir Zulfiqar Ali, who visited the spot, said the family members of the house are on the pilgrimage and luckily the fire was controlled on time by the fire fighters. "The situation could have been alarming because the Bhagwan Devi Hospital is situated close to the house where the fire erupted," the MLA said.

A case of fire accident has been registered and the investigation is underway. The house owner has been informed about the incident, the police said.
