Hyderabad Metro: Land Requisition Submitted for Old City
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) managing director N.V.S. Reddy said that requisition for acquiring 900 properties for the Old City Metro Rail project had been submitted to Hyderabad collector under the Land Acquisition Act.
Preliminary notifications had been issued for 800 properties, with declarations completed for 400 of them, he said in a statement on Sunday.
A total of 1,100 properties had been identified for acquisition for the 7.5-km Old City leg of the system, between MGBS and Chandrayangutta.
Compensation awards for 200 affected properties were expected to be finalised by the end of December, after which payouts would begin, and the demolition work would follow, the statement said.
Reddy stated that religious and historical structures along the route would be preserved using engineering solutions. HAML officials were negotiating with property owners to ensure smooth progress of the land acquisition.
The land acquisition process is monitored both by the Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited and district collector Anudeep Durisetty, and regular updates are being provided to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the statement said.
