Hyderabad Needs a Comprehensive Master Plan, Says Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union coal and mines minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday underscored the need to prepare a comprehensive master plan for the development of Old City and other neglected areas in Hyderabad on par with the Hitec City area.

Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating a community hall constructed from his MPLAD funds at Gudimalkapur under the Nampally Assembly constituency limits, Kishan Reddy said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy must lay special focus on Hyderabad and allocate more funds to improve the basic infrastructure such as water and drainage lines, concrete roads and parks.

Though Hyderabad contributes the lion share of funds to the treasury, the capital has been ignored in the allocation of funds. “The government is not focusing on the Old City and other regions on par with the financial district and Hitec City,” he said.

Stating that Hyderabad was the fastest developing city in the country, Kishan Reddy said the Centre was ready to extend support to improve infrastructure.

Earlier, Kishan Reddy inaugurated the Tiranga Rally taken up by BJYM activists at Ramnagar Chowrastha. He called upon people, particularly student unions and voluntary organisations, to actively take part in the Tiranga Rally and unfurl the National Flag on the top of every house.

He said that 23 crore people had responded to ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and unfurled the National Flag at their houses to mark 75 years of independence.
