Hyderabad: City resident Banu Narayana, 51, who had attempted to die by suicide at a hotel room here along with his family members, succumbed while undergoing treatment at a hospital on Sunday.
Narayana, his wife Padmavati, 47, and their son Sujan, 23, had attempted to take their lives on October 7, said Mahankali police inspector K. Parashuram. Sujan and Padmavati were stated to be in coma at a hospital.
The family booked themselves into a hotel in Secunderbad on October 5. “We were informed by hotel management that the family did not respond to their calls,” police said. The manager opened the door through a master key and found the three unconscious. Police were called and they shifted them to a private hospital and then to Gandhi hospital.
Police were told by Narayana’s relatives that the family was facing a domestic violence case, filed by Sujan’s wife. The family belongs to Chinchupally village in Kothagudam mandal, Parashuram said.
The victim’s body was handed over to their relatives for last rites, after postmortem on Sunday.
