Hyderabad Petrol Pump Cashier Attacked over Unpaid Bill
Hyderabad: A 39-year-old petrol pump cashier was attacked by assailants for asking to clear the fuel bill. The assailants who were in a car dragged him over 50 meters after he asked them to pay the fuel charges after filling their tank.
According to the cashier J. Jitendra, four persons in the car arrived at the petrol pump at 10 am on Thursday. After he refilled the car, the driver posed as if he was paying the Rs 1,500 bill by scanning a QR code and pressing the accelerator. The cashier tried to stop the car by pulling the handbrake; the assailants punched his face and dragged him by his shirt collar till the foot-over-bridge across the road. “I have suffered injuries on my legs, head and elbow. I did my best to stop them but they managed to escape without paying the bill amount of Rs 1,500,” Jitendra said.
The cashier immediately alerted the police on dial 100 and the police took him to a private hospital for treatment after recording his statement. “We have identified the car through the number plates cited in CCTV footage, said K. Adi Reddy, SHO of Falukmana police station. Reliable police sources disclosed that four suspects have been detained and the arrest is yet to be declared officially.
