Hyderabad Rains: 60 houses in Allapur, Kukatpally inundated
Hyderabad: With rain wreaking havoc in Hyderabad, more than 60 houses were inundated in Allapur and Kukatpally areas of the city on Sunday.
As the rainwater seeped in, people residing in the houses were trapped. Officials rescued the trapped people and relocated them to safe spaces on Sunday.
Several colonies in Moosapet were flooded. Rajiv Gandhinagar and Safdarnagar were also flooded as Maisamma Cheruvu overflowed.
GHMC officials helped residents by draining the water and removing debris.
Hyderabad: Incessant rains inconvenienced Hyderabadis but the worst off were destitutes who call footpaths their home.
With unrelenting rains for two days, thousands of these destitute took shelter in shaded areas near railway stations, shopping malls and metro buildings.
When enquired, some say these are the only places they get to sleep. Some NGOs provided them with dinner at several place.
